Apology letter from AVG antivirus

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately, the previous virus database might have detected the mentioned virus in some legitimate applications. We can confirm that this was a false alarm. We have released a new virus update removing the false positive detection of the mentioned file. Please update your AVG as described in FAQ 3271:

When the update is completed, AVG will automatically restore the falsely detected file from the AVG Virus Vault to its original location.

Also, we would like inform you that your account on the AVG Whitelisting Service has been created. The AVG Whitelisting Service allows you to upload your files (especially new builds of your applications) to the secured AVG Whitelist FTP server. Files uploaded to this server are processed and after analysis "whitelisted" which prevents future false positive detections. Service is free of charge.

The AVG Whitelist FTP supports flat structure only, you are not allowed to create folders. If you need to use structure with subfolders ("MyFolder1/MyFolder2/abc.exe"), please pack it by some archiver (WinZip, WinRar, 7zip, etc) prior to the upload.

Processed files are removed from the FTP server and no confirmation e-mail is sent that the uploaded files have been processed.

Please inform us if you experience any issues with uploading files or with the connection. If this is the case, we would like to request a detailed issue description (including error messages or log files if applicable), and the name and version of your FTP client.
