Features

Really small size

BioniX package have only 1.5MB and contains 10 high quality wallpapers, few skins, a demo playlist, and documentation. The program itself have only 0.6MB. Using such a small program will not consume your computer resources.

Schedule Options

This program lets you set the time interval at wich your deskop wallpaper will be changed. You can chose it between one second and 59 hours. Also, BioniX has "don't disturb user" mode (through "automatic shut down" option): images will be changed automatically when Windows starts, then the program will close without user intervention.

Supported Files

BioniX Wallpaper supports JPG (JPEG, JFIF, JPE), GIF (static and animated), PNG, BMP, ICO, WMF, EMF image files.

Embeded screen saver

If you are not on your computer, BioniX will continue to display your favorite images as screen saver. This embeded screen saver will automaticaly import all images from your last playlist, so you don't have to configure or iteract with it.

Play List

Like Winamp, Bionix Wallpaper gives you the posibility to gather images from all over the hardisk in one playlist, without changing their physical location. Also, you can make multiple tematic playlists and switch between them.

Playlist extension

BioniX gives to the saved playlists the extention BIO and associate itself to BIO files. This means that the wallpaper cycler will start automaticaly if you doubleclick a BIO file.

Remote control - Minimize all - Hide icons

For a better visibility:
-BioniX can hide the icons from your desktop
-BioniX can minimize for you all existing windows
-You can hide BioniX and keep on the screen only the Remote control. This way you can enjoy your desktop without being disturbed by other windows and icons.

Image Position Options

BioniX Wallpaper has, in adition to the well known tile / stretch / center functions, two new functions:
*smart stretch = if some of your pictures are bigger or smaller than your desktop size, BioniX will make them fit
*smart tile = if some of your pictures are tiny, BioniX will tile them.

Image cycling

All images from the playlist can be displayed in "shuffle" or "continuously" mode. BioniX will skip all invalid files (that don't exist any more in your computer or defect/corupt). Also, like Winamp, BioniX Wallpaper cycler has playlist navigation, which permits you to go back and next through the images.

Active Desktop mode auto-detection
For Windows 98 users BioniX can automaticaly switch off your Active Desktop. This is recomanded because Active Desktop is a very hungry memory feature of Windows. So, BioniX will change your desktop without passing through Active Desktop.

Drag and Drop

You can drag multiple images from your Windows Explorer or Total Commander in Bionix. This way the pictures will be added to the current playlist.

Skins

BioniX Wallpaper changer is skinable. You can download new skins, or you can create your own skins.

Instalation

BioniX Wallpaper manager doesn't need an installer: just download, open the archive and run! It doesn't need DLLs or other external files. But for your convenience we included also an installler.

Chat, Cyclon and WebStripper*

BioniX 5 will have an embeded P2P file sharing module (something like Napster) so you can share your images with others, a chat room and a module that will help you to download all images from a web site.

Resources

Being so small BioniX Wallpaper uses very low resources. You can use it even on a very old systems. We tested on many systems and find out that it need only 0.12% of your CPU on a AMDK6.2 at 500MHz, 32Mb RAM in inactive state (when it doesn't change the wallpaper).
On a K7 at 1.4 GHz it uses only 0.002% of your CPU.

Note: All features marked with * will be available only in BioniX Wallpaper Extreme package.
